I just finished this little miniature of some western butterflies as a commission for a collector, and am delighted that they love it! I think my favorite part of this piece was all the beautiful vibrant golds I was able to use for it as well as so much delicate texture in their wings.

I’m delighted that these three pieces were just accepted in the Gallery North Small Works show in Edmonds, Washington. The show opens next month and the Artists’ Reception and Ceremony will be on Saturday, March 5th from 1-4 pm.

These two pieces will be showing in the Prelude to Spring Exhibition in Salem, Oregon at Elsinore Gallery coming in the month of March. I’m looking forward to when we burst into bloom again here in Minnesota.

Working on an 8″x10″ snow leopard cub painting. Putting in the fur is very relaxing and I’m loving how it’s turning out. The limited palette is complimenting the cat so well.

Minnesota has dropped into the deep freeze for the time being, so I am doing more painting than wildlife watching until it warms up to above zero at least. Fresh out of the studio, these two little bird paintings recently arrived at Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa. If you’re nearby I hope you can stop by and see them. A small painting of a grizzly bear.. This is one of the little bears up at the Duluth Zoo, back before the public could view them. Many thanks to the zoo’s photographer for allowing me to paint from their references. The little bears looked so happy and playful taking their baths.
