Just back from the opening reception of my family’s feature exhibition at Seaside Art Gallery in Nags Head, North Carolina. I’m so thankful to the gallery and those involved in making the show possible. The area has suffered so much damage from flooding due to hurricane Matthew and we were unsure that things would still go on. Fortunately the gallery was able to open their doors again just in time for the exhibition. I was able to finish over 50 paintings for the show – Image gallery here and the full show is available on the Seaside Art Gallery website.
Normally I would be out scouting the area finding references after the reception and gallery events or bringing along some small paintings to work on in the hotel after hours, but this time getting everything ready and sent off for the show took a bit more out of me than usual. There was quite a bit showing up right along the beach.. loon, sea ducks, pelican, dolphin, and of course the gulls.. I’m excited to get back to starting new painting soon!
