I seem to be in the mood for feathers this week.
These little sketches (done in graphite) are the start of some hand held sized songbird paintings, Titmouse and Chickadees. With all of the fresh snow and sub-zero temperatures here in Minnesota, I’ve been watching the bird feeders frequently and enjoy observing their energy in spite of the cold. I think they will be a fun project.
My new Peregrine and Snowy Owl paintings here are again inspired from my visit to Ontario this year. It was so captivating to watch them, especially those that took flight and gave a glimpse of their command in the air. The Peregrine is 16×20, and the larger Snowy Owl is 9×12.
