This is the underpainting stage of another new one in the studio that’s headed to color soon. I’ve wanted to paint a Skunk Family for some time, but nothing seemed quite right until this.
I loved this setting with the hollow log, interaction between the little ones, and mother keeping a watchful eye. I’m looking forward to the texture and color that should contrast nicely with the silky skunk fur, too.
The finished piece will be 13.5″ x 11.5” and is planned to debut in November at the Fall show with Seaside Art Gallery in Nags Head, NC.
