New underpainting for a small Tree Swallow piece, 6x8in, watercolor on board. . I usually skip the ugly stages like this in my videos and photographs on social media because, well, it's messy. But recently I was chatting with someone that was convinced that this portion of my painting just seems to be completely impossible to them. . For sure, painting like I do isn't the easiest. Not many want to bother with this much effort. Yes. It takes some patience, and it helps to practice a lot, but it's certainly not impossible. So, to show in action, how things begin - here is a rare look at the not-so-pretty pre-sepia underpainting (or in this case variations on muddy color) complete with smudging because I was in a hurry.. Hope you find it interesting, and well, clearly not so impossible. :) (For this piece, so far, I'm using the watercolors sent to me by Martin/F Weber Mijello Mission Gold.) . 🎨🎨🎨 Enjoy! . . #contemporaryrealism #artstagram #arts #art_spotlight #arty #artist #wildlifeart #instaart #artista #originalart #artsy #graphite #artistsoninstagram #artlovers #artlover #artistry #artists #artoftheday #artistic #art #traditionalart #sepiaart #artistoninstagram #artlife #realismart #wildlifeartist #artofinstagram #sepiasketch #blackandwhite #paintinginprogress
