Celebrating Spring: The BLOOM! Exhibition at R.W. Norton Art Gallery

Spring feels like a fresh start, and there’s no better way to celebrate it than through art. That’s exactly what BLOOM!, the exhibition at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, sets out to do. It’s an annual tradition that brings together artists from all over, each offering their own interpretation of nature’s renewal.

This year, I’m excited to have a piece included in the show. There’s something special about painting spring—capturing the softness of shifting light, the quiet stir of wildlife, and the delicate colors that emerge after winter’s retreat. Each brushstroke reflects that transition, those in-between moments when the world slowly wakes up again.

BLOOM! isn’t just about florals (though there are plenty!). It’s about growth, change, and the way nature rebounds every year. The exhibition opens March 20, right on the Spring Equinox, which feels fitting. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery is known for its breathtaking gardens, so walking through the exhibit and then stepping outside into blooming landscapes makes the experience feel complete.

One of the best things about exhibitions like this is the way they connect art lovers with the natural world. Whether it’s the burst of color in a painting or the quiet mood captured in a wildlife scene, every piece tells a story about spring. I’m honored to be part of that storytelling this year.

If you’re in the Shreveport, Louisiana area, BLOOM! kicks off at 5 p.m. on March 20, welcoming visitors to explore the incredible lineup of artists bringing spring to life on canvas.
