I’m delighted to share some exciting news — my watercolor painting Surf and Stone – Snowy Egret has been accepted into the 49th Southern Watercolor Society Annual Juried Exhibition! The exhibition will be held at the Gadsden Art Center & Museum in Quincy, Florida, within the Sara May Love Gallery and Sarah K. Newberry Gallery, from February 20 through April 25, 2026.
Only 85 paintings were selected for this year’s exhibition, chosen by the juror from 248 submitted works, making it an incredible honor to be included among such a talented group of artists. The Southern Watercolor Society has long championed excellence and innovation in watercolor, and I’m humbled to have my work shown alongside so many inspiring creators who continue to elevate the medium.
Surf and Stone – Snowy Egret was inspired by the quiet elegance of the coastal birds I so often find myself drawn to — their stillness, their poise, and the way light plays across their feathers against stone and surf. To see this piece recognized in this exhibition is deeply meaningful to me.
I’m deeply thankful to the juror, Iain Stewart, and the Southern Watercolor Society for this opportunity. I’m truly honored to have Surf and Stone – Snowy Egret included in this inspiring celebration of watercolor. If you’re near Quincy this spring, I hope you’ll visit the Gadsden Art Center & Museum to enjoy the exhibition and support the artists represented there.
