Reaching Out – Raccoon in Progress

Reaching Out, opaque and transparent watercolor on board, 8″ x 10″, detail view.

“In my new painting, “Reaching Out”, I aimed to capture the beauty and grace of of a fleeting moment. The raccoon, perched on a log, reaches out with gentle curiosity towards a butterfly. The neutral colors of the painting are punctuated with warm and cool accents, adding depth and dimension to the scene.

The intricate details of the painting draw the viewer in, inviting them to explore the scene and discover the subtle nuances of the composition. The backlit setting adds a sense of mystery and wonder, inviting the viewer to imagine the world beyond the canvas.

My goal with this painting was to create a sense of connection and appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. I hope that viewers will be moved by the tender interaction between the raccoon and butterfly, and will be inspired to look more closely at the world around them.”
